Description :Cheran Arts Science College conducted an Awareness Programme on Ill Effects of Tobacco on 19th April 2023. Dr. Kowsalyadevi, Vice Principal delivered the inaugural speech. In her speech, she said that one should not take up the habit of smoking himself and also prevent his dependents from taking up the habit. Mr. Praveen Kumar, Social Activist, Tobacco Control Centre of Tirupur district, also spoke about the significance of celebrating May 31 as No Tobacco Day. He explained to the students how addiction happens in the life of all humans and the health risks linked with it and how to quit tobacco. Mr. Rajkumar from Tirupur district’s Health Education Department spoke to the students about the need of eating healthy foods and drinking plenty of water to avoid body dryness during the hot season. The vote of gratitude was given by Mr. Kasthurirangan, Head of Catering and Hotel Management Department.
